GLOCK model numbers decoded: G17, G22, G26, G32, G35, and G49
Compare the caliber, size, capacity, and format of six commonly searched GLOCK model numbers without confusing a model number for a caliber.

A GLOCK model number identifies a product family, not a caliber. Read the model and generation together, then verify the exact configuration.
Start with the model family
G17 is the full-size 9mm reference in this group, while G26 is the subcompact 9mm. G22 and G35 are .40 S&W references in full-size and long-slide formats. G32 is a compact .357 SIG model, and G49 combines a compact-length grip with a longer slide.
| Model | Reference caliber | Format |
|---|---|---|
| G17 | 9mm Luger | Full-size |
| G22 | .40 S&W | Full-size |
| G26 | 9mm Luger | Subcompact |
| G32 | .357 SIG | Compact |
| G35 | .40 S&W | Long-slide |
| G49 | 9mm Luger | Crossover |
Generation and configuration still matter
A familiar model number can have generation, optics-cut, finish, magazine, and jurisdiction-specific differences. Use the exact product page rather than assuming every listing shares one specification set.
